We are a Year 5 and 6 class at Hornby Primary School. We work digitally 1:1 and our teacher is Miss Scott. We believe we are an awesome class and are willing to work hard to reach our potential.

Crazy Catapults
For buddy class we had the chance to make catapults. We had popsicle sticks, rubber bands, tin foil, glad wrap and a marshmallow to fire. We had to aim at a target.
Hey Room 7! Wow that looks so cool! I also really enjoyed watching the short video clips. How did you know how to make them? Who had the best aim? Did anyone try to make one at home? Look forward to hearing from you! - Miss Morgan
Hi Miss Morgan, We made the catapults with ice block sticks. We also used rubber bands and a bit of blue tac. Jacob's group landed on the middle then bounced out, they won. They got a marshmallow as a prize. From Tory and Nuu
WOW - you showed such perseverance and skill in your learning Rm 7. This would be so much fun on a hot day with some water balloons aiming at your favourite teacher or principal! How big would your catapult have to be if it was to launch all of you at once into a huge bowl of ice cream?
Yummmm - we'd love to be launched at ice cream. Xaviar said the catapult would have to be 50 feet tall - that would be about 15 metres tall. We would also love to shoot water balloons at the teachers and principal. We had a big water fight at the start of the year and got the teachers soaked/saturated then.
Great thinking Xaviar...thats about 5 buses high if you put them on top of each other! Who got the wettest...the teachers, the principal or the students in your water fight?
The children were in their togs so it didn't matter that they got wet. The teacher's got soaked. Jacob poured a lunch box full of water over Miss Scott's head.
